CHILDREN AT MAIA
Maia is child-friendly and family-friendly. We keep children entertained with a diverse range of 'Very Important Kids' (VIK) activities and menus that suit their tastes.

For younger children there's sand castle building, accompanied swimming lessons with toys and snorkelling in the pool, as well as painting and colouring sessions. For teenagers, activities can include treasure hunts, group canoe trips, volley-ball and movies. Upon request, an activity programme can be personalised for your children by arrangement with Maia's Recreational Team – and at any time during your stay, your personal butler will care for and entertain your children too.
 

BUTLER SERVICE
As part of the VIK programme, your personal butler will provide exemplary care for your children whenever the need may arise, offering you a heightened sense of freedom and peace of mind knowing they are in good hands while you relax and immerse yourself in the romance of this peaceful, five-star resort...
 

EXCURSIONS
Despite being secluded, Maia is in close proximity to a number of places of interest around the island, which provide several options to keep young travellers occupied and entertained. Trips can be arranged to La Digue and Bird Island - strong favourite with families with their dramatic, volcanic rock formations and wonderful rare bird and turtle sightings. Over and above this, the Recreational Team will gladly put a program together for your children.
 

SPA TREATMENTS
The Spa at Maia also provides exciting exploration packages and imaginative pampering treatments for the younger generation... Think chocolate fudge or banana-split scented baths, massages and mini- pedicures and manicures...
 

ACCOMMODATION
Children can stay within a designated area in villas on the beach front to ensure other couples are undisturbed and that families can relax together. With close proximity to The Spa and dining areas and direct access to the gardens and beach, Maia's Ocean Front Villas are most suited to young families.

Ocean Front villas are most highly recommended for family stays at Maia.

Complimentary Child Stays
  • Children under 2 years old, sleeping in a cot.
  • 1 child up to 6 years of age, sleeping on the bed-couch (1.6m).
  • 1 child up to 16 years of age, staying in an extra bed. (excluding 24.12.09 - 10.01.10 where a surcharge of EUR 625 per night inclusive of breakfast applies).
  • For two or more children, or for those older than 16 years of age, a second villa is required which will be available at the applicable rate. Children in these villas can enjoy their own personal butler. Ocean Front or Ocean View Villas (for teenagers only) can be requested.
